How It Works

If your story has been selected for publication, you will be notified requesting your permission to publish it in the Second Wind anthology. Please note that stories will be edited for continuity and grammar and writers will be emailed a final version of their submission prior to publication. At such time, we will request your authorization to print the revised submission.

Tips for New Writers

Even experienced editors have their articles and stories vetted by other people and we would encourage brand new writers to have a friend or colleague give their story a read before they send it off. As your volunteer reader is seeing your story with "Zen" eyes - seeing it for the first time - their feedback can be invaluable.

Share the Wealth

At Second Wind, we enthusiastically embrace the traditional Buddhist principle of Dana, which essentially means the redistribution of wealth. Writers whose stories are selected for the collection are an absolutely vital component of the project. It is, after all, your offerings that will inspire others who may have given up on the belief that love will visit their lives. If your story uplifts even one person, we believe that a miracle has taken place. Each contributor will be paid an equal share of a pot amounting to seventy percent of whatever Second Wind Success Stories receives as an advance after the agent's commission. Potentially a very lucrative situation, so please make this work your very best.
